11/29/2023 - Fairview Community School - Nanaimo
It was such a delight to visit Mrs. Kutka's grade 2/3 class on Wednesday, November 29th, at Fairview Community School. They were the first class ever to read my book, and I am so grateful. I was surprised to walk into the classroom to hear all the students excitedly recite their feedback in unison. They wrote up the feedback on the nice display on the board behind us, which they gave to me to take with me.
We all had a great time. I read from my book, and many of these talented students also read their own writing in front of the class. I enjoyed the squeals of delight when I told them that in honour of them being the first class to read my whole book, I brought each of them a copy. Charming days like this remind me why I am a children's book author! (Huxley pictured with permission.) |

11/4/2023 - Read Locally Book Fair - Victoria
The creative energy among the writers and publishers at Read Locally Book Fair was crackling!
Victoria Writers' Society sponsored this Book Fair of local independent writers and publishers, where people could come out and browse, find the perfect book, while supporting and encouraging local writers. This was their chance to talk to the writers and get that book signed personally. |
